How we came to own a traditional British company...

In 2010 Damien was working as a HGV driver, delivering aggregates and sand around the northwest. Getting a little fed up with the continuous queues on the M6 and surrounding areas, the search for something more akin to what Damien was used to, began (for over thirteen years Damien worked in several roles at a local manufacturing company, where his last role was Operations Manager).

While reading the local rag 'The Buxton Advertiser' Damien read an article about Mike Turnock. Mike was the last beechwood riddle and sieve maker in Britain and was wanting to retire, but was finding it difficult to find someone willing to continue this age old craft. Reading the article brought back memories from when Damien used to visit Mike and his father Fred, and watch them make riddles and sieves, about 30 years ago.
